Wedgewood Remodel

The kitchen, dining room, and living room of this home in Wedgewood, a lovely neighborhood near Mahtomedi, were completely remodeled to reflect the homeowner’s love of the outdoors. Perfect Design Solutions incorporated many natural materials, including a custom live edge dining table and reclaimed wood paneling and beams. Completing the design were accessories, textiles, and art, with pops of color.

Roseville Suburban Remodel

Perfect Design Solutions transformed this charming 1960’s Roseville rambler into a beautiful, functional, open concept space. One surprising design touch was converting an extra doorway into a hidden specialty bar. The extra large island’s counter top is a beautiful cream gray granite with a textured, honed finish. Custom cabinets were designed with special attention to details, including a space for the homeowners’ cookbook collection. The fireplace in the living room was completely resurfaced with natural stone that blended perfectly with the granite and the custom-stained oak flooring. A reclaimed timber mantle completed the fireplace. Furnishings and accessories by Perfect Design Solutions.

Dellwood Home

The entire house was remodeled. The upper-level remodel involved completely opening up the space by removing walls, adding windows, and making the three-season porch an all-season nature room. The ‘70s kitchen was small and closed in, with the typical low hanging cabinets over a peninsula that blocked the view of the eating area. Those cabinets were the first to go. Now, with the open design, the kitchen has more windows, less walls, and an angled cook top peninsula facing the porch, so the “chef” can relate to family, friends, football, and nature.

Mahtomedi Nature-inspired Contemporary

This Mahtomedi home was a wonderful project. A quality home built in the late ’70s, it was in need of some whole house updating. Like many homes in that era, it needed some brightening, lightening up. By removing the carpeting and vinyl in the hallway/stairway/entry/kitchen, and replacing it with a beautiful warm Travertine stone in a “Roman” pattern, the elegance of the home was brought out with real impact. The kitchen’s solid wood cabinets remained, by home owners’ preference, and worked perfectly with new hardware, lighting, and rich granite counter-tops and back-splash. This all created a nature-inspired feel, which was perfect for the woodland lakeside setting. New carpeting, new furnishings, window treatments, custom commissioned accessories, and art created a  unique blending of old world elegance and contemporary lines, with a nod to Asian flair. *Special note: The oil painting is a commissioned family portrait utilizing the home’s outside setting as background.

White Bear Lake Historic Home Renovation

The Cyrus B. Cobb House in White Bear Lake was built circa 1895 and appears on the state register of historic houses. Perfect Design did an extensive full-home renovation, including a garage addition and third floor expansion, preserving the Victorian-era design qualities.
